The Federal District is an administrative division, on the same level with but also distinct from the provinces, which contains the capital of the United Island: Island City. It is located on the east coast of the country. The borders of the Federal District were drawn up on December 19, 2016, when the United Island was founded during the First Continental Congress.
The Federal District is almost entirely a large, flat beach, with patches of plains near the western border. The District is bounded by the National River to the north, the Eastern Province to the west, and surrounded by the Ocean on all other sides. Much of the southern peninsula of the District is not yet urbanized.
